Jun 23, 2026"This is the perfect example of a restaurant that I wanted to love, but didn't. Because of the reviews, the lovely menu, and the beautiful location I came with high expectations and my wife and I invited some friends to join us for a nice Friday evening out. When we arrived, I was awestruck by the beautiful grounds. The restaurant itself was also beautiful. This has the potential to be an incredible venue. When we first arrived we were quickly seated. Our server warned us that they were out of some of their wine selection, which should have been an ominous sign, since we arrived at 6:30 pm on a Friday evening and this restaurant is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The wines were not the only thing they were out of. Our server said he wasn't sure about what craft beers they had in stock, but he would be happy to check for us. Fortunately they had a nice hazy IPA. We got our drinks fairly quickly, but it took a really long time for anyone to take our food order. Eventually our server came by and asked if we were ready and we placed our order. Two of us ordered their signature dish, the slow cooked short ribs. Unfortunately, after several minutes our server returned saying they were out of the short ribs. The chicken looked good so we each switched from short ribs to chicken. My wife ordered the mushroom trio and the other member of our party ordered the burger. We also ordered several sides, including the baby cheesy rosemary potatoes, the ezquites, and the garden salad. I will day that all of the food was excellent. The chicken was juicy and moist (and was a huge serving), my wife loved the mushroom trio, the burger was cooked perfectly, and all of the sides were very good. The issue was that our meals came out of the kitchen somewhat piecemeal, my wife was halfway done with her mushroom trio before I got my chicken and the sides all came out a while after we received our main courses. I guess my biggest complaint about this place was the service. It was chaotic at best. We saw several tables come in, order, eat, and leave while we frequently had long lapses with nobody coming to our table. Nobody checked on us, nobody offered to refill our drinks. We semed to have two different servers and yet both of them made us feel neglected. We had probably finished our meals for 20-30 minutes and we actually had to flag someone down to clear our plates and tell us about desserts. Once again they were out of another menu item. They only had two types of dessert, chocolate tart and cheesecake, but after we ordered one of each to share, the server returned from the kitchen to tell us they were out of the chocolate tort. I wanted to give this restaurant five stars for atmosphere because it was so beautiful, but for a good portion of our meal we had several young children running around and screaming in our section of the dining room. I want to emphasize that this is not necessarily the restaurant's fault. I love kids and I love that this restaurant is striving to provide a family atmosphere, but at the same time this did detract from our meal. As I said, I wanted to love this place. I see a ton of potential, but to get there they need to make sure they are properly provisioned (they shouldn't be running out of so many menu items on a Friday night when they are only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and they must improve their service. Customers should never feel neglected or disrespected and we left feeling like second class citizens."
